History
Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Vouillé in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France, we present to you ‘Le Nid de Plumes’, a project created from a love for distinct and stylish events.
Open all year round, our event spaces, both inside and outside, offer charm and style for a large range events, big or small. Carefully executed by a dedicated events team, you will surely enjoy not only the day of your event itself but the journey in it’s planning too.
Feather factory renovation
Originating from an old feather factory or “Plumasserie” this industrial building, which in its day was home to 10 daily workers, has been transformed into contemporary event spaces. It offers many of its original features, which pays homage to the history of the feather factory that it once was.
Our story
Le Nid De Plumes was dreamt of and created by Caroline Gardiner, an Irish native living in France for 10 years. Having sold her successful events company in Ireland to start Le Nid De Plumes, Caroline now brings her wealth of experience in events to the table.
In 2021 Caroline became the new owner of La Galmandrie and she has kept as much of the original features in both the house and the feather factory – the features that give this unique and industrial space, along with its parkland, it’s unspoilt charm. Her vision to breathe life back into this once loved building and forest and to share it with you, has been a lifetime dream come true.

FAQ
In a word… absolutely! We welcome everyone who hears about us to come and visit, even just for the sake of curiosity. We have selected days dedicated to showing people the venue and everything that it has to offer. Please feel free to contact us to let us know your availability also.
For families and groups, there is a host of fun activities to do in the area, we have named below some of our favourites..
Mouton Village – 20 minute drive
Futuroscope – 22 minute drive
Les Vallée Des Singes – 50 minute drive
Aquascope – 20 mins drive
Velo-Rail (Chauvigny) – 35 minute drive
Domaine de la Roussille – 10 minutes drive
Yes we have a few car parking options. Parking at the main house is reserved for guests only. We recommend you park in the car park in the adjacent Parc de la Gorande. There is space for up to 40 cars and the short walk through the beautiful orchard will set a beautiful opening tone to the day ahead. If you are attending a church ceremony in Vouillé, we suggest you leave your car in the town which is less than 300m walk from Le Nid de Plumes. For guests staying in Le Cheval Blanc, there is ample parking there and few minutes walk back to the hotel.
As avid animal/dog lovers, we welcome dogs to the venue. However we have a couple of requests that we ask to be respected. Your dog will need to be on a lead throughout the event to avoid issues with any other dogs or our darling squirrels! We offer all of our ‘furry friends’ an endless supply of water, some treats and frolics in the forest.
The Plumasserie (on the lower floor) is wheelchair friendly. We encourage people with walking disabilities to contact us directly and in advance to coordinate arrival through the main gate and to organise parking close to the venue.
We have a few options for guests to stay onsite in our 2 bedroom gite (at the front of the building). We can offer some guests to stay in our Chambre d’Hotes rooms in the main house – La Galmandrie. As the main house is our residence, we encourage family members (who love to sleep!) to make use of these rooms, allowing us to sleep soundly too! We are happy to discuss all of these details with you.
